Likes of Me

I’m a whiskey-bottle juggler, I’m a shot-glass saint

I cook moonshine in the mornin’, make a dead man faint

I’m cuttin’ deals with the devil, give ‘em no guarantee

You can’t bargain with the likes of me

I’m a freewheelin’ drifter, I’m a mountain cat

All I need’s my boots, my gun and my hat

I won’t swing from a line, like some circus flea

You can’t govern the likes of me

I’m a riverboat gambler, I’m a shotgun ace

I read the hand your holdin’, by the fold of your face

I’m an artful dodger, I’m a skeleton key

You can’t swindle the likes of me

I’m a barroom brawler, I’m a barrelhouse thug

I knock ‘em all down, from the rail to the rug

I’m the only dog, put me down on my knee

You can’t pardon the likes of me

I’m a jellyroll hustler, I’m a hunted man

All the ladies lie, about the way that I ran

I got money on my head, back in Tennessee

You can’t torture the likes of me
